HECTOR UPDATE ❤️🥺Yesterday Bobo made the long trip to Bucharest, leaving at 8am and arriving back at midnight with our two very special boys (Hector and Grandpa) for investigations with the specialist vets 🙏🏼I naively thought that Hector would have an MRI and most probably would remain there to have a surgery, however we were surprised by the findings with no broken bones “to fix” but something very complex. I’ll try to keep it simple but as you can see circled in the scans below, at the medullary level C1-C2, an intramedullary cystic lesion is detected. Cystic lesion within the spinal cord – possible abscess/hematoma. Considering the MRI examination a vascular/infectious pathology is suspected.Surgery would be too invasive and is not an option with there being too many risks involved. To see everything surrounding this lesion so intact, raised some question marks, as there are no other signs of trauma damage but still it’s very viable.As an advisory, some further tests were made to rule out neurological manifestations but came back negative. His treatment plan has now changed and we hope, we pray, we wish with all our might that on this new treatment and with a little time, we’ll begin to see some improvements and we can reverse this damage that is preventing him from standing…. 🥳RESERVED🥳Hope was brought into us back in March, as a small puppy who had been found hit by a car and left 💔What a mess she was in, it’s been a long journey to this point, with brilliant vet care in those early days and lots of tlc.We’re so proud of Hope and so grateful to all of you who helped us, enabling us to “fix and heal” her.After 9 months, the time has come where this week Hope will be using that golden ticket that was granted to her and she’ll be boarding the happy bus 🚌💨Thank you so much to Deborah King for originally naming her and it’s with enormous thanks to Karin Kromhout-Heemskerk of Dutch Animal Care who promised that Hope would be out of the shelter for Christmas 🎄 She granted her golden ticket 🎟️ and Hope will indeed be in a loving foster home in time for Christmas 🎄 next step- forever home ❤️ ...
