How we store your information
Any information provided to us is securely stored
For successful applications to foster or adopt an animal we will keep information provided by yourself for as long as we have a relationship with you as an adopter/fosterer of one of our dogs or cats. Data will be retained at least for the the lifetime of the animal +3years in order that welfare and courtesy checks can be made.
We keep information provided for unsuccessful foster/adoption applications for 3 years, unless you request removal prior to this. This enables us to process any future applications to us quickly in the future.
For shop purchases we keep a record of name, address and purchases details in order that we may follow up any queries regarding your orders in the future. We hold no data relating to payment (eg credit or debit card details) and uses Stripe secure and encrypted payment system to process these
Data provided for applications for Guardianship is kept for as long as you are a Guardian in order that you can be updated as to the welfare of your sponsored animal.
Information you have provided to opt into our news updates will be used to provide you with news and information about our organisation until you ask to be unsubscribed.
Volunteer applications are kept for as long as you are volunteering with the oragnisation, plus any additional time dependent on whether you may hold information necessary to the running of the organisation.
In all of the above circumstances we will only ever hold necessary information relevant to the reason it is being held.
Your data protection rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
