By entering into an adoption arrangement with Sadies Dog Rescue you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions :
- I, the adopter, will not to part with possession of the dog, but to contact SDR for advice regarding re-homing the dog if for any reason I am unable to keep the dog. SDR will endeavour to re-home the dog wherever possible.
- I AGREE NOT TO HAVE THE DOG EUTHANISED UNLESS THERE HAS BEEN PRIOR CONSULTATION WITH SDR.
- I will not allow the dog to be used for experimentation or stage purposes of any kind.
- I will provide qualified veterinary treatment in the case of illness or injury. I understand that due to the unknown history of this animal there can be no guarantees against any hereditary defects, conditions or illness and agree that SDR cannot be held liable for any future treatment costs, save where a specific Medical Clause may apply. I understand that it is my responsibility to provide the rescue with evidence of access to a Brucella Canis Friendly’ vet, as explained in the document ‘Brucella Canis Information for Adopters and Fosterers‘ , in order to safeguard the dog’s wellbeing.
- I am aware of all the requirements of UK law relating to dogs and I understand that I am solely responsible for keeping the adopted animal under proper control and accept full responsibility for the animal and its actions. I am aware that animals can occasionally cause damage and agree that SDR are not responsible for any actions of the animal once it is in my care.
- I will ensure the dog has owner’s name and address on collar or disc attached thereto.
- I will notify the local authority, police and SDR immediately should the dog become lost or missing.
- I agree that the donation paid to SDR is not for the purchase of the dog, but for the administration/transport costs and part donation towards the upkeep and medical care of any present or future dogs which SDR may rescue.
- The donation paid to SDR is non-refundable should I not wish to keep the dog.
- I agree and understand that whilst SDR gives as much information as possible, they do not always have a complete history of the dog and cannot therefore guarantee temperament/behaviour or health of a dog. Any information concerning the habits and past history of the dog is passed on by the SDR in good faith. The information we provide you may be based on statements made by the previous owner or by a trainer/behaviourist and/or observations of the animal whilst in our care. We cannot guarantee that this information is correct despite making every effort being made.
- I agree that I have considered all responsibilities of pet ownership, including financial commitments in terms of insurance, vet fees, feeding, grooming and training. I understand the welfare needs of a pet and have the time and capacity to ensure that appropriate exercise and training is giving which I freely enter in to on the signing of this agreement.
- I confirm that I am over 18 years of age.
- SDR strongly recommends that you take out comprehensive pet insurance for your new dog. As a minimum we require you to agree to take out Third Party Liability cover in case of injury or damage caused by your dog
- Should my dog be unneutered at the time of adoption I agree to having the him or her neutered as soon as possible unless there are overriding veterinary reasons for it not being possible.
- I agree that SDR may retain the contact information that I have supplied for the purpose of contacting me occasionally regarding the welfare of the dog.
